Tribute to Prince: The Legendary Purple One Gone Too Soon

Fans are reeling as the news of Prince’s sudden death washes over America. Prince Rogers Nelson, just 57 years old, is most famously known as an 80’s icon with musical hits like 1999, Kiss, and Little Red Corvette (to name only a few). It is not yet known what caused his death, but Prince had a medical emergency just last week, possibly due to the flu. Just one week later, after appearing at a concert after his hospital visit, he has passed away leaving fans devastated.

“His Royal Badness”, or, “The Purple One” flew into the spotlight in 1978 with his first album For You and continued to wow audiences with his unique style and powerful musical influence. His 1984 film and soundtrack Purple Rain is still an 80’s favorite among fans and is a lasting legacy Prince leaves behind. Prince has won multiple Grammys, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar for his legendary musical talent.

As the world still grieves for the music and Hollywood legends already lost this year – David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Merle Haggard, and even Doris Roberts (just this week) they are once again shocked and saddened to hear the news of another great loss.
